For Melbourne renovators

You're the only salesperson. And you're on the tools.

Kitchens, bathrooms and extensions get sold by the owner, at night, after a day on site. Cushy texts every enquiry back in seconds, asks the room, the scope, the budget and the timing, and only books your time when it fits.

Screening

Stop giving up evenings to quote jobs that were never going ahead

When you're the only one who sells, every quote comes out of your evenings. The worst ones are the bathroom with a $10k budget and a $35k wish list, or the extension that's still an idea on a napkin.

Before anything is booked, Cushy asks what you'd ask: which room, what's in scope, a budget range, when they want it done, and whether plans or permits exist yet. Budgets that don't match the scope get a polite, honest reply.

Early-stage ideas get a call. Jobs ready for a measured quote get a site visit. Either way the answers are attached, so you know what you're walking into.

What lands in your calendar

A call or a site visit. It books the right one.

You decide during setup which work needs a call and which needs you there in person. Cushy only books into the times your Google Calendar says you're free.

Books a call

Early-stage ideas, no plans yet, or someone still working out scope and budget. Cushy books a call at a time you're free, with their answers in front of you.

Books a site visit

A defined job with a budget that fits and timing that works. Cushy books the site visit for a measured quote, with the room, scope, budget and any plans attached.

You see every lead

You get a summary of every lead: what they wanted, whether they fitted, and what got booked. Every quoted customer gets a check-in at day 3, 7 and 14.

There's nothing to log into. Bookings land in your Google Calendar with the details attached. If it isn't sure, it hands the conversation to you instead of guessing.

What it looks like at 8pm on a Tuesday

Renovation enquiries often arrive after dinner, when people finally sit down to talk about it. That's also when you're writing up the last quote.

Booked in, and you never touched your phone
Hi, we're looking at redoing our main bathroom and maybe the ensuite. Do you do both?
8:06pm
Cushy, your booking assistantHi, thanks for getting in touch. It's Tom's booking assistant. Tom's finished for the day, so I'm grabbing the details. Yes, Tom does both. Is it a full strip-out, and roughly what budget range are you working to?
8:06pm
Full redo of the main, ensuite just a new vanity and tiles. Maybe 45 to 55k all up
8:14pm
Cushy, your booking assistantThanks, that helps. Whereabouts are you, and when are you hoping to start?
8:14pm
Camberwell. Ideally early in the new year
8:19pm
Cushy, your booking assistantThat works. Tom will want to measure up for a proper quote. Is Wednesday at 5:30pm alright, or would a Saturday morning suit better?
8:19pm
Wednesday's fine

What it's worth

The maths on a $40,000 renovation

An estimate, not a result: 15 enquiries a month, a $40,000 average job and a 30% margin. Screening is the most reliable saving, then missed calls, then quote follow-up.

Estimate
~$700 a month
Site visits you don't drive to

Budget, timing and suburb asked before booking, so 1 or 2 bad site visits a month (about 4 hours each) get screened out.

Conservative
~$3,150 a month
Leads you'd have lost

Calls missed on site and forms answered the next day, replied to in seconds, qualified and booked.

Speculative
~$2,880 a month
Quotes followed up

Every quoted customer checked in with at day 3, 7 and 14, if that lifts your win rate from about 25% to 28%.

Recovered leads alone come to about 3.2x the fee of $990 a month.

Recovered leads assume 20% of enquiries are lost today, Cushy saves 35% of those, and 25% of the saved ones become jobs. Job values and the save rate are estimates, to be replaced with real figures from audits and the first clients. Directional, not a forecast.

Cushy is $990 a month plus GST. On these numbers, recovered leads come to about 3.2x the fee, before screening or quote follow-up.

Is it a fit?

Built for high-ticket jobs, said plainly

At $990 a month it only works when one extra job is worth a lot. A good fit ticks all of these.

Your average job is $15k or more
You get 15 or more enquiries a month
You spend on Google Ads or lead sites
You have 2 to 15 staff
Nobody's job is answering the phone

Not for you if you're a service-call plumber or electrician, a cleaner, a mowing round, or a business with a full-time receptionist. If your jobs are under $15k, Cushy probably won't pay for itself, and I'll tell you that.

The fair question

“My clients want to talk to me, not a text.”

They will, and Cushy makes sure it's the right ones. It never quotes, designs or promises a start date.

It handles the first five minutes: which room, what scope, what budget, when, and whether there are plans or permits. Early ideas get a call with you, and jobs ready to price get a site visit. You still do the selling, just with people whose budget matches the job.

Weighing it up against paying someone to answer the phone? I compare the two honestly here.

Timing

Everyone wants it done by Christmas

Renovation enquiries come in waves: spring, then a rush of people wanting it finished before Christmas, then again in the new year once the holidays have given everyone time to stare at their kitchen.

The wave lands when you're busiest finishing last season's jobs, which is exactly when the evening quotes slip.

Questions

What renovation businesses ask

No. It never gives a price, a design or a start date. It finds out the room, the scope, the budget range, the timing and whether plans or permits exist, then books a call or a site visit so you can quote properly.

You decide during setup. Usually early-stage ideas, and jobs with no plans yet, get a call. Jobs ready for a measured quote get a site visit. Both land in your Google Calendar with the answers attached.

It asks whether plans or permits exist, so you know where the job is up to, but it never advises on them. If a customer asks, it tells them you'll go through it with them.

Yes. The questions change with the job, and you set them for each during setup. A bathroom gets asked which room and what's in scope, an extension whether plans or permits exist yet.

Every booking lands in your calendar, you get a text when one is made, and you get a summary of every lead. If it isn't sure about something, it hands the conversation to you instead of guessing.

$990 a month plus GST ($1,089 charged). The first payment covers your first month. There's a 6-month minimum, then it runs month to month and you cancel by email. Quote follow-up at day 3, 7 and 14 is included. The only extra is Quote Revival: $1,500 once, and only if it books 3 or more site visits.

It takes a season to see the pattern, and most of the value comes in lumps. A good month might bring one big job and a quiet month none, so a few weeks tells you very little. After 6 months it runs month to month, and you cancel by email.

If Cushy books fewer than 3 qualified quote visits in your first 30 days, your first month is refunded. A qualified quote visit is one booked in your calendar with the job type, suburb, timing and a budget in your range. If it books fewer than 3 of those, email me and I refund your first month.

I don't do sales calls. Everything you need to decide is on this site. If your question isn't answered here, email hello@cushydigital.com and I'll reply within one business day. Or apply: I review every application and tell you honestly if it won't pay for itself.

Keep using them. Cushy doesn't connect to ServiceM8, Tradify or hipages, and it doesn't need to. It answers the calls you miss and the enquiries from your own website form, then books into your Google Calendar. If a hipages customer rings and you miss it, they get a text back like anyone else, but Cushy doesn't read leads inside the hipages app. Once a job is booked, quote and invoice in whatever you use now.

Stop driving to tyre-kickers.

And stop losing the ones who rang while you were on site. Apply in two minutes. I review every application within one business day, and if Cushy won't pay for itself for you, I'll say so.
